James deWitt
Unity Programmer / 3D Artist
Old Time Hockey
Role: 3D Artist Internship
Objective: To gain professional experience in a game studio and produce final quality, game ready assets.
Delivery: I modeled and UV mapped five stadium environments and made some minor fixes to the three stadium meshes V7 already had completed. I modeled these stadium environments based of images of real stadiums and ice rinks to the requirements of the programming team. I also modeled an environment for an in-engine cutscene and worked on 3D assets for static images
Project: Originally a Hockey Game for Xbox Live Arcade
I interned for four months at V7 Entertainment in Vancouver, Canada. I worked as a 3D artist on and unannounced Xbox Live Arcade hockey game based on a feature film. I greatly enjoyed the experience, and was trusted with a great deal of independence to acomplish my tasks. My main focus was environment modeling, and was able to take the project from having three modeled stadium environments to eight. I also modeled the environment for an in-engine cutscene from the film; created models and posed characters for still images; and provided technical art support for the English Pup development team.
